ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
A year in the making, this limited collection of hand-thrown ceramic vessels by Thirdlee designer Michelle Provencal are filled with a custom scent crafted by Steady Light Candle Co. candle maker Erin Donovan.
Michelle and Erin met by chance at a Portland gathering of local artisans in 2017. As it happened, Michelle had created Thirdlee in the same Biddeford studio space that Erin had occupied a year earlier. With a shared passion for the natural elements, vintage artifacts, and all things coastal, the two easily became friends and creative confidants. When Michelle joined a ceramics studio in 2019, a candle collaboration seemed only natural. As Michelle began creating in the studio, Erin began crafting a complex custom wintry scent who’s earthy ingredients were not surprisingly, a perfect fit for the rustic stoneware vessels that Michelle produced.

Based in Saco, Maine, Steady Light Candle Co. is run by designer & decorator Erin Donovan. With nature as her muse, Erin creates gently layered scents using unique blends of essential oils. Erin’s exquisite hand poured candles are a sought after favorite at local markets. Each candle reflects her natural aesthetic, pure in their ingredients and with carefully crafted elemental scents.
When not pouring candles, Erin can be found at local markets and online selling her one of a kind framed antique documents and curated vintage decor collections under the name Of the Sea Studio.

About Thirdlee & Co.
Based in Waldoboro, Maine, Thirdlee & Co. was created in 2017 by product designer Michelle Provencal as a home for her needle felted ornaments. Having been a dinnerware and home décor designer for 20 years, this collaboration offered Michelle a welcome opportunity to get her hands dirty and create shapes on the wheel instead of on the page.
